SAMR model integration
SAMR Model Integration
In our last class we went through SAMR model integration. in general SAMR model integration is a framework that helps teachers understand and assess the levels of technology integration in teaching and learning.
SAMR stand for:
S: Substitution
substituting traditional tool with technology without changing learning task.
A: Augmentation
- technology provides functional improvement over traditional methods, but there is still significant change in learning task.
M: Modification
- allows significant task redesign and provide new opportunities that were not possible without technology
R: Redefinition
- enables creation of new task
The SAMR model encourages teachers to move forward by substituting traditional tools and aims for higher levels of integration that transform teaching and learning experiences. By modification and redefinition, teachers can leverage technology to create innovative and engaging learning opportunities that fosters critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills.
LESSON PLAN
Class: IV
Date: 24/04/2024
No. of students: 24
Subject: Science
Period: 2nd period
Duration 45 mins
Topic: Soluble and Insoluble Substances
Materials:
Lesson Objective:
At the end of the lesson students will be able to :
Define “ soluble and insoluble” in their own words after the explanation.
identify soluble and insoluble substances after the activity.
Writes the uses of soluble and insoluble substances in their daily lives after the teacher’s discussion.
Lesson introduction:
-bring 2 mixtures, one jar will have a mixture of salt and water and the other jar will have pebbles and water.
- I will let them observe the two mixtures and let them write what differences they observed on the two mixtures.
- and they will share their differences to the class
Lesson Development:
After they get the idea of the topic, i will give the concept of soluble and insoluble substances by showing a video

Explain further about the topic with definitions, examples and uses in daily lives.
Lesson Activity:
Divide the students into two groups, and after that in each group I will provide them with 4 small jars, sticks, sugar, pebbles, coffee and a bottle of water.
With those materials, first they will add equal amounts of water into the 4 jars.
Then they will add salt, sugar, pebbles, coffee in each jars and stir them with sticks.
And in a book they will make a table of soluble and insoluble substances.
After the experiment they will write down in the table whether the substances are soluble or insoluble substances.
Extended learning activity:
I will provide them with a question to state a few examples of soluble and insoluble substances they use in their everyday lives.
And later let them share their answers to the whole class.
Closure
End the lesson with quiz
